Sleep and Metabolic Program
Resolve the root causes of poor sleep, fatigue, and weight gain with a medically supervised program, integrated into sleep care. This structured program uses metabolic therapy to help reduce the severity of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), with objective sleep testing before and after treatment.

What Is Zepbound (Tirzepatide)
Zepbound is a once-weekly injectable medication containing tirzepatide, designed to help with chronic weight management and now also approved for certain patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It represents a significant advance over older weight-loss medications because it targets two hormone pathways involved in appetite and metabolism simultaneously.
For people living with obesity-related sleep apnea, losing even 10–15% of body weight can dramatically reduce or even resolve symptoms, without the need for surgery.
At Resolve Sleep Health, our program is never offered in isolation. It is used only when clinically appropriate and always as part of a structured sleep and metabolic health program led by Nurse Practitioners and dietitians.

What the studies showed
Patients taking Zepbound experienced:
- Significant weight loss
- Fewer breathing interruptions during sleep
- Improvement in apnea severity
- Better daytime symptoms, including reduced fatigue
In some patients:
- OSA improved from moderate/severe to mild
- Or symptoms resolved entirely following substantial weight loss
Study highlights include:
- Approximately 25 fewer breathing interruptions per hour
- Around 18% average body weight loss after one year

Who This Program Is For

How Obstructive Sleep Apnea & Metabolic Health Are Connected
For some people, weight and metabolic health can contribute to airway collapse during sleep. Excess weight and metabolic imbalance can increase pressure on the airway, making sleep apnea harder to manage – even with treatment.
GLP-1 medications may help by:
- Supporting better energy and sleep quality over time
- Supporting gradual, sustainable weight reduction
- Improving appetite regulation and cravings
Important to know:
GLP-1 therapy is not a replacement for CPAP, but may help:
- Reduce symptom severity
- Improve CPAP comfort or tolerance
- Support long-term sleep health
How the Sleep & Metabolic Program Works at Resolve Sleep

Sleep & Medical Review
Meet virtually with a Nurse Practitioner to review:
- Your sleep history and prior sleep studies (or arrange testing if you haven’t had one)
- Medical background and symptoms
- CPAP tolerance or challenges

Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on your results, your plan may include:
- CPAP optimization
- Oral appliance or positional therapy referrals
- GLP-1 medication if clinically appropriate

Medically Supervised GLP‑1 Therapy
If prescribed, treatment starts at a low dose and adjusted gradually based on:
- Tolerability
- Energy and daytime alertness
- Sleep quality

Objective Follow-Up
Repeat sleep testing may be used to assess:
- AHI changes
- Oxygen levels
- Symptom improvement

Frequently Asked Questions
Is GLP‑1 a replacement for CPAP?
No. CPAP remains first‑line treatment for moderate to severe OSA. GLP‑1 therapy is used as an adjunctive treatment to improve outcomes and tolerance, not eliminate evidence-based therapy without reassessment.
I already had a sleep study. Do I need another?
If you’ve completed a Home Sleep Apnea Test or an in-lab study (Level 1), we accept those results. A repeat home sleep apnea test is only performed later to measure progress.
What GLP‑1 medications are used?
The only GLP-1 treatment approved for weight management in those with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea is Tirzepatide (Zepbound).
Is this covered by insurance?
The program itself is private-pay. Medication coverage depends on your insurance plan. It is recommended you contact your insurer or review the drug coverage in your plan through your insurer’s online portal (if applicable).
How much weight will I lose?
Weight loss varies. Our goal is improvement in sleep apnea severity and metabolic health, not rapid or extreme weight reduction.
